Nintendo's Iwata Calls an End to 'Console Wars'

Consider today to be Armistice Day! Yes, peace has broken out in the Console Wars that have been raging, well, since the first NES owner punched the first Mega Drive owner in the face^§ . Nintendo's president Saturo Iwata has declared the fighting can stop.

"Often times, we have heard such terms as console wars, but we are actually always pushing ourselves and we are not engaged in such limited competition. For example, have we really been battling against only Sony and Microsoft?" he tells the WSJ.

He then points out that, "And also, as you know, videogames can be played many other ways today.

"They are available on iPhone, iPad and Android, so today it does not make any sense to discuss console wars between the three platform holders."

Phew! Peace at last... or is it?
