LA Noire not Keeping Up with Red Dead Redemption
It's early days yet, but it appears that the, according to NPD, sales of L.A. Noire with tis face mapping (reviewed here) are not keeping with Red Dead Redemption, with its game-play (reviewed here).

NPD has stated that, L.A. Noire has sold in the region of 900,000 units in the U.S. in May. A good figure for sure.

In a comparable period, however, Red Dead Redemption sold 1.5 million.

An analyst at Sterne Agee's called Arvind Bhatia makes the point that, "RDR has sold through 8.5M units life-to-date. We have assumed L.A. Noire will sell 3.4 to 4.0M units in its life or 50% to 60% below RDR. In other words, the sales trajectory for L.A. Noire (-40% versus RDR) in its first month is right in line with, if not slightly above, our assumptions."

We love analysts and we're going to keep an eye on Arvind Bhatia, who can make an assumption that the figures already agree with. Beat that Michael Pachter.
