What has just happened: The Microsoft E3 Press Conference has closed with a trailer for Halo 4, labelled as the next trilogy in the extensive Halo franchise.
The new game will star Master Chief once more, with the teaser showing the once-dead hero being revived on board a cruise ship under attack. After receiving something of a distress message from Cortana, the faceless Spartan jets off into space and into a round of applause from the conference audience.
Svend thinks: Nothing to go on here, but it's great to see the chief back. I probably would have liked Microsoft to have taken a chance on a new IP, but you can't argue with the staying power of the franchise that Bungie built. Let's hope 343 Industries has been taking notes over the last few years...

legendary ending for 3 shows chief still alive at the end. Has a nice little "moment" with Cortana then says something like "wake me when you need me" and goes into cryo. good part here
