Mistakes, Sony's made a few. At least, it has with the PSP Go, by the admission of Sony's Worldwide Studio boss Shuhei Yoshida."I could spend 30 minutes talking about what was wrong with PSPgo," lamented the executive when speaking with OPM (via
CVG). "There are lots of lessons we learned from the PSPgo. Definitely we didn't do something right with it.
"So there are lots of things like the hardware didn't have the compatibility with the UMD library and not all the PSP games were sold on the PSN store." It was reported that Yoshida had no regrets in regards to the launch price of the device, which stung potential buyers with a £225 tag.
A lack of downloadable titles and a high price for both the portable itself and the games on offer via the PlayStation Store effectively killed interest in the platform for keen tech-heads. Sony is keen to avoid a similar fate befalling its upcoming Next Generation Portable.
