The return of PlayStation Network's online gaming features could be imminent, after Sony was spotted switching on the service's internal developer network.NeoGAF user Kagari reported that "The internal PSN developer network is online again, at least it seems for some, although things are still a bit shaky at the moment such as lack of new account sign up," adding that account access and online play could be restored within days.
Just a few days ago, SCEE community manager MusterBuster wrote on Twitter that gamers can expect to see staged restoration of features taking place well before May 31st. "31st May is the date for FULL restoration of PSN services. Restoration is phased. Online gaming will return BEFORE May 31st," reads the
tweet.
PlayStation Network was taken offline on April 20 after a hack compromised millions of user accounts and threw the security of Sony's infrastructure into question. Personal data such as names, addresses and passwords were stolen, but it is uncertain whether credit card data was pilfered.
