Microsoft is to make a new Xbox Development Kit (XDK) available to developers. The new kit will have more RAM, built-in flash memory, larger hard disk drives, and - interestingly - a smaller form factor.
According to Gama:
"The new XDK console, which is offered at 'a significantly reduced price from its predecessor', is designed to increase efficiency while reducing costs for licensed development teams of all sizes that wish to create software for the Xbox 360."
The XDK also comes with a "Sidecar" attachment that reduces "the overall price to create, test, debug, and release an Xbox 360 or Xbox Live Arcade game."
Let's hope this gets imaginative Indie developers not only involved but profitably so.
