GAME Announces UK Consumer Show
Good news for non-journalist gamers in the UK who (a) can't make it to consumer shows in Europe (b) don't live in London. The GAME Group has announced a new show for you; it's called Gamefest.

GAME's MD, Martyn Gibbs, apparently let the info slip at last night's BAFTAs (which were manfully attended by our Svend - more from him and Jon Smith (TT Games), Robert Llewellyn, DICE, Richard Jacques, Ben Kingsley, David Braben, Dara O'Briain, Jon Hare, David Cage, Criterion, AssCreed chaps, CUT THE ROPE, Civ V, Heavy Rain composer, F1 2010 Codies... later).

According to CVG, "The first Gamefest will be held on September 16-18 at the Birmingham NEC." Yup, not London.

"We promise this is not a money spinning venture", he said. Adding that "the intention is to help the industry's leading lights "be first to consumers", whatever that actually means.

Anyway, three cheers for that. And, of course, if you do live in London, you'll have to find your own way out.

Does that mean pre-ordering tickets will cost more than buying them on the door then? Screw GAME.

Also screw the Codies, they wont let you play their old Speccy games, tightwads...
