It might seem that Sony has thrown the kitchen sink at its new Next Generation Portable, but according to SCE Worldwide boss Shuhei Yoshida the company could have packed a lot more in it."There were elements that we found pretty cool, but had to set aside to remain on target," Yoshida told Edge (via
CVG). "It's a big lesson we learnt from the PS3. There's no point putting everything you want into a device and doing the math later."
Learning from "FIVE HUNDRED AND NINETY NINE US DOLLARS" sounds like a good plan. But with all the technology already stuffed inside the new portable, there's speculation that you still may have to sell off your premium breed cat to get an NGP.
Yoshida wasn't prepared to allay any fears that the device would be priced outside of Nintendo's competing 3DS handheld, by saying "I can't talk about a definitive price at this stage."
Maybe E3, then? Just please don't let Kaz Hirai announce the price again. You'll have us worried.
