It's a "Dear business, grow-up" story! LG Electronics is in a patent-related legal fight with Sony in the USA. So, it's asked the legal authorities over to remove PlayStation 3s from sale in the that same great(ly litigious) country.According to
Bloomberg, LG "claims Sony’s high-definition TVs infringe four patents, while products with Blu-ray players including the PlayStation infringe four others". Therefore, on February 4th it filed two claims with the International Trade Commission in Washington.
This is tit-for-tat based on Sony's case against LG in the ITC, which was brought on on December 28th regarding the latter infringing seven of Sony's patents - including Blu-ray player produced by LG.
All this has resulted in LG demanding the that PS3s (in short, a Blu-ray capable Sony device) and Sony Bravia TVs be pulled from sale.
Next up: Sony and LG demand each other stops looking funny in the queue for lunch or someone's dad will beat up someone else's dad.
