Look, this one isn't come as a huge, huge surprise. But it is good to know that a Super Mario Bros. game will be hitting Ninty's new 3D handheld. And it's good to know that Shigeru Miyamoto himself has outed it.
Well he has. Speaking in the translated Iwata Asks Nintendo blog thingie, he actually and literally said this - literally:
"In the interests of adopting new technology for the Super Mario Bros. tradition, I am now making a new Super Mario Bros. game for the Nintendo 3DS system."
Gosh!
