Keen-eyed PlayStation Network users discovered an entry for the original Grand Theft Auto: Vice City game on the service's online store this weekend, suggesting that PS2 titles might soon become available for PS3 and PSP users.
The Rockstar classic was listed as a free downloadable underneath the PSP prequel, Vice City Stories
. Various assets were missing from the entry, including summaries and thumbnail images. Successfully downloading the file won't lead you to PS2 heaven either - according to TheSixthAxis, when "the game boots it boots as 'stories'" - whether that means Vice City Stories
or not is uncertain.
Obviously, the title was not supposed to be there and was intended as a placeholder - the entry has been removed as of this morning. Could Sony be finally working to allow for PS2 compatibility?
