SCEE Boss Never Doubted 2010 Release for GT5
The SCEUK president Andrew House has recently explained in a chat with games industry outlet MCV that he never doubted that Gran Turismo 5 would not make a 2010 release.

Speaking of preparations leading up to the game's launch, House explained that “We had good conversations with Yamauchi-san and the Polyphony team at Gamescom about the milestones.

“There was always very strong confidence it would be out this year."

House went on to note that, “...with a game of that size and complexity, sometimes you can encounter a few bumps in the road as you approach the end. We have successfully overcome those and were careful of not communicating a revised date until we were certain.”

The game had experienced multiple delays, with two alone in 2010. The game's November 24th release date however, showed those believing it wouldn't be able to make store shelves in time for Christmas to be wrong.

As for whether it was worth the wait... well, you can catch SPOnG's GT5 review right here.
