Sony's Move Stats Counter Kinect
Following the revelation that, with four week to go before the end of 2010, Microsoft is halfway to its target of five million Kinects sold, Sony has released figures for Move sales. 4.1-million sold since September.

The company explains that the figure is based on "Cumulative number since its release date, September 15 for Europe/PAL territories and Asian countries/regions, September 19 for North America and October 21 for Japan. The number does not include sales of stand-alone PlayStation Eye camera or stand-alone PlayStation Move navigation controller."

Sony is somehow also able to extrapolate from the 4.1m figure that it, "indicates positive momentum going in to the holiday season and to the year 2011."

It also takes time to point out that "More than 41.6 million PS3 system has been sold globally."

That's the facts according to Sony. That's us reporting them.

"positive momentum" eh? You'd hope so, given that Move has only been out a few months. Anything but would be a monumental disaster of epic proportions

So that's only starter packs and additional standalone move wands?

I'd account for two of those 4.1M then since I got a starter pack and an additional wand.

I wonder how many Move-enabled PS3s there are out there? I bet it's closer to the 2.5-3.0M mark. :-)

I think the real question is, which is actually better as far as quality and performance?
