Kinect is selling quite well worldwide, with Microsoft having just confirmed that the device has sold over 2.5 million units to date.
The company noted that the recent Black Friday holiday sales over the weekend helped to nudge the motion peripheral ever closer to its estimated 2010 target of 5 million units. If you break it down, 1.5 million Kinects were sold over the last two weeks, with the first million sold in its first ten days on store shelves.
Don Mattrick, Microsoft's president of Interactive Entertainment Business (phew) said "We are thrilled about the consumer response to Kinect, and are working hard with our retail and manufacturing partners to expedite production and shipments of Kinect to restock shelves as fast as possible to keep up with demand."
