Activision/Blizzard has announced that several European cities will be packed with queues of cos-players around major retail areas on the night of December 6th.This is because the next chapter in the
World of Warcraft series,
Cataclysm, will be getting its retail launch then.
So. if you're in the UK, USA, Canada, France, Germany, Russia, Sweden, the Netherlands and even if you're in Taiwan (you might want to row over from China) be prepared to don your helmet and sword of BuyGarth from the 'Queue of Purchaenacht'.
The UK 'event' takes place at in London at a place called Sound (No.1 Leicester Square, London, WC2H 7NA) kicking off at 10:00pm on the 6th of December. Details are
here.
We love this bit, "In addition to the official UK launch event, other retail locations around the country will open at 11:00pm GMT on the 6th of December to support gamers looking to pick up their copy of the expansion the moment it goes live."
"To support gamers" sounds so much less harsh than "to sell the game to"...
Blizzard has also detailed the collector’s edition of the game, which comes with:
An exclusive
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm behind-the-scenes DVD including over an hour of developer interviews and commentaries.
- The
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Collector’s Edition soundtrack CD
