Activision Blizzard: Kotick on 'Over Performance'
Activision/Blizzards has released its earnings for report for the financial quarter ending September 30th 2010. The company has net revenues of $857 million compared to its forecase of $725 million, which is good.

In terms of actual comparison to the same period last year, the company saw net revenues of $703m for the three months to Septemeber 30th 2009.

Looking into the financial data shows that costs and expenses for this period stood at $690m compared to $694m in the same period in 2009.

Net income was also a postitive with $51m coming into the coffers for the 2010 period compared to $15m in 2009.

So, basically, it's done very well indeed.

Robert Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard, told investors that, Our better-than-expected results are due to our leadership in online entertainment, including strong performance from Activision Publishing's Call of Duty franchise, and Blizzard Entertainment's World of Warcraft and StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty."


He was also very definite in highlighting that Activision/Blizzard was not tied to traditional boxed-games - and important commercial position to be in right now, "For the nine months ending September 30, 2010, our digital offerings contributed close to half of our total non-GAAP net revenues and our digital revenues have increased more than 15% over the prior year. Most importantly, we continue to deliver some of the world's best games."

With all this good news, Bobby was able to tell investors that "As a result of our over-performance, we are raising our calendar year 2010 net revenue and earnings outlook. We expect to deliver the most profitable year in our history with record operating margins."
