PS3 Rewards Beta Invites Today
If you're a GAP or PSN Plus member who ticked 'receive marketing'
Okay, prepare yourself for caveats: If you are a PlayStation Plus and Gamer Advisory Panel (GAP) members who opted-in to receive marketing marketing as of October 24th... there's a chance you could be receiving an invitation to the new invite-only, PS3-only PlayStation Rewards program starting today.
Yes, indeed, Sony is launching a loyalty system that 'rewards' GAP and PSPlus (but not PSP users, not yet) for playing games, and buying and downloading items from PSN.
"The more you play and participate, the more progress you’ll make through our three reward tiers: Select, Pro and Legendary", says Sony. "As your status increases, so do the rewards. And if you want to check out your current status level, simply go to your private profile page and look at the reward progress meter."
So far, the rewards include:
- PSN avatars that display member status in the program.
- Dynamic themes and PlayStation Home content.
- "Opportunities" to participate in members-only sweepstakes and giveaways for experiences and merchandise you won’t find elsewhere. An example of this is an all expenses paid trip to the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, as PlayStation’s guest.

I read that the beta of the reward program is open to US citizens only, I think this is wrong as most playstation 3 owners are in Europe and not US so I think it should be open to European people aswell.

im pissed off im in canada my friend has a cool avater he got from the rewards programe i want it he got a email for a beta invite for the rewards its not fairi been playing ps3 since it was relessed
