Sony is running a promotion that gives consumers the option to claim back VAT on its products purchased between October 28th and December 24th. The PS3 is not included.
Sony Computer Entertainment has told MCV that "the PS3 will not be included in a new Sony promotion... that covers 3D TVs, Blu-ray players, laptops, e-readers and cameras."
A SCE UK spokesperson added that PS3 will see plenty of seasonal bundle offers this Christmas.
