UK games retailer GAME has announced that it has fulfilled all of its pre-orders for the upcoming motion controller Kinect but still wants people to go ahead and place their pre-orders still.A notice on the
company's website states:
"PLEASE NOTE: Kinect, the amazing new gizmo for Xbox 360, is selling out fast. We've already hit our limit for launch but you can still preorder with us right here at game.co.uk for a priority place in the queue. As soon as we have more stock in, we will make sure we get your order to you."
Sister store chain,
Gamestation also notes:
"Kinect, the amazing new gizmo for Xbox 360, is selling out fast. We've already hit our limit for launch but you can still pre-order with us right here at Gamestation for a priority place in the queue. As soon as we have more stock in, we will make sure we get your order to you."
Competitor, HMV, is not announcing any stock shortfalls. A check with Argos for delivery to the postcode SW1A 1AA (Buckingham Palace) reveals that Her Majesty the Queen could be Kinecting on November 10th.
So, are these Signs that Kinect will be more popular than expected? Or is this the same old strangle-stock on launch to increase interest tactic used by other hardware in the past?
