Sony Ends PSP Dev Kit Supply
Sony is bringing the supply of its DTP-T2000A and DTP-H2500A series development kits to an end, according to French site PSPGen.

The site reports that it's told the official site for Sony developers carries the message: "SCEE will no longer be selling the PSP Development Tool (DTP-T2000A) or Testing Tool (DTP-H2500A) past November 15th. Please order in advance if you require these development units.

"We will advise you when a new model becomes available".

This comes amid rife reports that PSP2 dev kits have been turning up at development studios, with a Spring 2011 launch looking likely.

It all adds up...

I think if any PSP successor was due out that soon the public would have heard something more than rumours by now. 3DS is due out in Spring and Nintendo made that official months ago. If Sony had something imminent, they'd be shouting it from the rooftops.

but with already poor psp sales do you think they would just annnounce it knowing it would kill off sales of this generation? they are keeping a lid on it to make as much money as possible with the pspgo

Yeah, I do think they'd announce it. They need to build excitement and anticipation for the device. Give people time to save up for one and also time to build up the desire for one. There's nothing makes someone want something more and more than not being able to get it. Spend 6 months showing people videos of the device and it's launch games and they'll get more sales than if they just announced it and released it 1 month later.

I'd bet real cash money that the thing will not be out in the spring.
