Laughter rings out

Tim Schafer and Ron Gilbert Reunite
Double Fine's Tim Schafter may never have met Activision CEO, Robert - "Bobby" - Kotick, but he certainly has met Ron Gilbert. They collaborated on Monkey Island for goodness sake. And now they're back together.

That can only mean what our American pals call "A Laugh Riot" is about to ensue.

According to Kotaku, which spoke with both men, details of their collaboration are sparse, "Except", said Shafer, "they're awesome."

Apparently, "It will be funny and it will have a very confusing ending," and, "Fans of those old adventure games will like it."

Apparently the project, according to Gilbert,"will be an entirely new concept, not a sequel or remake of an existing game", and "It's an idea that I've been batting around for many, many years.

"I've been talking to Tim over the last couple of months about it and it sort of percolated back up. It's very different than DeathSpank, it's a bit of a departure from that. It's going in a very interesting direction.

Can't wait.1

Lovely bit of box art there, remember those big cardboard PC boxes, i do, as i had to try and make them fit on the shelf at Game, still nothing better than installing 17 floppy discs, although every thing was CD by time I got to the point of selling.
