Good news is: Dead Space 2 is getting a multiplayer beta on the PS3. Bad news is: it's going to be a tiny little one.
Invites have been sent out, according to Joystiq, with multiplayer producer Scott Probst explaining in the email invite, "We have just launched a small beta which will help us polish the game, and we have selected you to help us achieve that goal! We are still several months away from the game's release, and there is still plenty of work to be done prior to shipping the game."
The email doesn't go into details on how the invitees were selected, though they seem to be drawn from EA's online community - apparently with no regard to PlayStation Plus.
