Sony looks set to integrate its online video service, Crackle, into the PlayStation Network. A report from the New York Times cites analysts that predict the service could even become the primary entertainment channel on the PSN.
Crackle, owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment, offers free viewing of television programmes and movies. The cost for original shows costs the company around $1 million per episode - the money is made back from advertising. With over 50 million PSN subscribers over 4 million Crackle viewers, there's some major potential cashback.
According to the NYT, Crackle already has something of a limited presence within the PSN, but "Sony executives confirm that an expansion is in the works."
