Sony has revealed more details about its upcoming PlayStation Plus subscription service, and one glaring omission has been made apparent - when the feature hits on 29th June, PS3 users still won't be able to use cross-game voice chat.Posting on the official
EU blog, James Thorpe – PlayStation Network Product Manager states:
"Cross-game chat is not currently included in PlayStation Plus."
So, this merely adds weight to earlier rumours of Sony considering its inclusion in a future firmware update. Such rumours were sparked after
an official Sony website listed cross-game voice chat as a perk to PlayStation Plus members.
Luckily, while a master account holder of a PS3 console needs to actually subscribe to the service, the leased content - which includes four games a month from the PlayStation Store, playable for the duration of the subscription - can be played by other accounts on the same unit.
Sony also reaffirmed most of PlayStation Plus' main benefits - full game trials, automatic downloads, 'free' games and exclusive discounts for the online store.
