PlayStation 3 Says "Hello World" Courtesy Of Exploit
George Hotz might have stirred the pot when he revealed an exploit for the PlayStation 3 system, but it appears that someone else has gone ahead and taken advantage of the console to write bespoke code. "Hello World" is now achievable on the PS3, thanks to hacker StreetSkaterFU.

Although not quite as known on the 'scene' as 'Geohot', SSFU is still prominent in the homebrew community and has managed to manipulate Sony's machine to some sort of will. The hack works through a loader with the .p3t extension - the keen eyed among you will recognise that as the filetype for PS3 theme files. It works through USB at present.

No mention was made on what version of firmware this exploit currently worked on - if current, no doubt Sony will be finding ways to close that loophole very soon.

ROFLMAO FAIL!!!!!!

StreetSkaterFU otherwise known as SKFU, has been on the scene LONG before GeoHot.
SKFU was part of Team ICE over four years ago and he has done some minor exploits on the PS3, so please do some research.

Oh the "exploit" is available on all current firmwares, its only an animated theme

Kids these days... why the hell do they need to do some research on some nerdy person? he may have been on the "scene" longer but has he managed to cause Sony to remove a major feature of the PS3 like GeoHot did? I don't think so.

@ Tamikaze im probably older than you >.<
In fact do some research on me, you'll see that :D

Anyhow, you fail at your assumption that it was because of GeoHot that the Other OS feature was removed, im afraid to burst your bubble, the Other OS removal was nothing to do with him.

Oh and SKFU has his house raided because of his hacking antics on PS Home, so as i said before, do some research and remove your fanboy heads from GeoHotz ass.

Oh and the picture has nothing to do with this "exploit", that image is of another project that SKFU's team is working on.

@GregoryRasputin
oh sorry great wise one for my incorrection assumption on something I clearly know nothing about and you seem to know everything. So why was the other OS feature removed then?

So what great hacks has this SKFU done?

I love how you've branded me a "GeoHotz" fanboy when I haven't supported him in anyway shape or form, I was just judging from previous news stories from this site.

Thanks for your concern, but

1. The issue is whether SKFU is "not quite as known on the 'scene' as 'Geohot'," not whether he has been on the scene longer than Geohot. So to this end, the article is not incorrect.

2. The image was not intended to be directly related to the story; of course, as it's another of Team ICE's projects, that makes it worthy of being used as an image. There's no need to assume that the photo used was meant to be for the 'Hello World' exploit.

Again, thanks for playing, but no dice.

I dont know what scene you are talking about, but i am refering to the PS3 scene and indeed SKFU is more known in the PS3 scene than GeoHot oh and another fact, there is no Team ICE, it dissolved a long time ago, with SKFU deciding to work on his own at the time.

@GregoryRasputin
Please stop saying "fail" over and over again when you're the only one failing...

Geohot said so himself that the Other OS feature was probably removed because of him.
And notice that Tamikaze assumes you're a kid just because you're acting... well, like a 4 year old.

Wow, I looked up nerd rage on Wikipedia, and it linked me to here.

Carry on.

@Tuxedo lol you made me laugh, you asked me to stop saying fail over and over again, that would mean i said it a few times, i only said it once, so umm i guess you failed at trying to get a rise out of me :D

Oh and the other funny thing, you said i act like a 4 year old, that's funny, you try and insult me because i state fact, that of which it seems people here are too dumb to understand.

Oh and thanks for making me laugh +1 to you :D
