George Hotz might have stirred the pot when he revealed an exploit for the PlayStation 3 system, but it appears that someone else has gone ahead and taken advantage of the console to write bespoke code. "Hello World" is now achievable on the PS3, thanks to hacker StreetSkaterFU.Although not quite as known on the 'scene' as 'Geohot', SSFU is still prominent in the homebrew community and has managed to manipulate Sony's machine to some sort of will. The hack works through a loader with the .p3t extension - the keen eyed among you will recognise that as the filetype for PS3 theme files. It works through USB at present.
No mention was made on what version of firmware this exploit currently worked on - if current, no doubt Sony will be finding ways to close that loophole very soon.
