Edge has reported that Gears of War 3 will feature underwater missions as well as radical changes to the much-loved cover system. In fact, release date of Gears of War 3 has also been made public on Xbox Live. At least according to AGB and here*.New Locust enemies are set to be included in the sequel, which include tentacles that can reach players hiding under cover. Delta Squad will also have the ability to use special explosives that can destroy enemy cover positions. The aim, it seems, is to keep everyone moving.
Other additions rumoured include a Summer setting with new underwater locations, as well as a huge mech suit that the COG members can operate, that doubles as protection and as a demolition machine.
Gears of War 3 has not been officially announced yet, but its unveiling seems imminent. Cliff Bleszinski was to feature on US TV host Jimmy Fallon's talk show yesterday to discuss a brand new title, but his appearance has been pushed back to Monday "to polish" 'the game'. Whatever it is. We can't think what it could be. Could you?
Wouldn't it be funny if Epic just announced a new
Jazz Jackrabbit game instead?
