Microsoft: Natal is Okay for Bedsits
Yesterday, there was concern that motion sensing device Natal would be quite useless for small living rooms or student dorms, requiring at least 4 metres between the player and the TV. Today, Microsoft said that the concerns from Techflash were "misinterpreted."

"It is true that the 'Project Natal' sensor reads the configuration of your room and adjusts play space, as appropriate," a Microsoft rep told Kotaku.

"We know that living rooms come in all shapes and sizes, and have conducted numerous play tests to ensure everyone will be able to jump off the couch and into the fun when 'Project Natal' launches globally this holiday."

We can't wait to try Natal in our Underwater Castle's playtest cupboard.

So how does it deal with people who have projectors?

That's my issue with Wii, Move and Natal; in order to play properly I've got to stand in front of the projector and block the display.

I think I'll stick to sitting on the couch. :-)

but from what i read the system seems to have a maximum range of 4 meters D x 4 meters W x 2.9 meters H, so as long as your within those perimeters it should pick you up OK, should!

We can Wii absolutely in our movie room, projector and all.

The secret was to ceiling mount the projector (and that room has a low ceiling) and stand just slightly to one side. Which when you are doing two player, you want to anyway.
