Sony has announced that the issue plaguing 'fat' PlayStation 3 consoles yesterday - causing them to function incorrectly due to a leap year bug in the system's internal clock - has been resolved today. In a post called "PlayStation Network Service Restored" (Sony, honey, it wasn't a PSN issue), the company confirmed on its
US Blog that the older hardware "recognised 2010 as a leap year" and that "having the internal clock date change from February 29 to March 1 (both GMT)" seemed to have solved the problem.
Well, by "having the internal clock date change" we're sure Sony really meant "waiting for the internal clock date to change so it might fix itself". But no matter - it's all fixed now, with the exception of those who played any games during "The Lost Day" and didn't sync their trophies - those are being reported as lost by some gamers on forums.
Still, we can play
Heavy Rain again, and that's what counts. What did you do during "The Lost Day"? Fire up the Xbox 360? Play Scrabble instead? Go *gasp* outside? Let us know in the comments box below.
