Remember when Microsoft hosted its own gaming event? You don't? That's because the 'X' events haven't happened for a while. Cheer up, according to Seattle PI, the X10 event is coming!

SPi reports that, "Microsoft sent out a media advisory Monday afternoon announcing X10, an expo for showing off upcoming Xbox 360 games and add-ons (that'd be Project Natal) this year."

Apparently we'll be treated to: Alan Wake, Crackdown 2, Xbox Game Room, FFXIII, Fable III, Halo: Reach, Splinter Cell: Conviction; yes, Splinter Cell: Conviction... still previewing.

So, where and when? The afternoon of February 11th at the Terra event centre in San Francisco.

Weren't they X events the ones where MS put a bunch of journos on flights to the venue, stuck them in a hotel, threw parties and got them "liqoured up". Oh, and showed them a bunch of upcoming games?
Wonder how that will work out with the new US disclosure regulations? Dang those disclosure statements are going to mess with the pretty copy text.

Yeah, and it all sounds rather lavish and glamourous! I wish some of that stuff would spill over into arcade trade shows, because with the financial crisis I'm having to cut back a bit. After last year's ATEI, it was Pizza Hut and the Trocadero with some of the DDR:UK guys. After shelling out to get to London for EAG today, I won't have any money left to eat, let alone drink!
