The Gran Turismo 5 Demo, that also doubles as an international Time Trial Contest, is now available to PlayStation 3 users eager to try out the Nissan 370Z on a special race track.In conjunction with the GT Academy, a real-life racing tournament that introduces world-class
Gran Turismo players to professional circuits, the Time Trial will be open until the 24th January 2010. Players wanting a chance to make it to the second ever Academy at Silverstone next year will need to get their best times in before that date.
The
European PlayStation Blog had a quick chat with Polyphony Digital’s Kazunori Yamauchi about what’s in store for those downloading the program, which is essentially a preview into how the complete version of
Gran Turismo 5 is going to play;
“The
GT Academy version is something in which you can experience the new car physics, which is the soul, the spirit, the very core of
Gran Turismo 5. This is something we have taken a very long time to improve upon,” Yamauchi said. “To achieve good laptimes, you need to be both bold and to be able to perform very fine control of the machine, and the learning process involved in that should be a fun experience for the players.”
So, download it and have a go, if you think you’re hard enough. And all that.
