Yesterday the USA got wind of what PS3 firmware 3.10 would bring to it (aside from law suits). Today, it's the turn of Eurotrash such as Limeys like us to find out.

The EU PlayStation blog has details up in fact.

Basic details:

- No in-game chat.

- Yes, Facebook.

- Photo View, "Your photos are now shown in a grid format rather than in one line to make it easier for you to skip straight to the photo you want or browse an album quickly."

- On demand TV for Spain, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania and Slovakia (poor old Slovenia).

- "Friends list update is complete and, as you can see, only the profile that’s selected has the coloured box."

- "customize your PSN profile with your favourite colour".

I'm in the UK and just installed this, the 3.10 firmware, and now there's no BBCi player... in fact there's no TV icon on the XMB at all... nioce one $0ny my kids will be more than pissed now that feature has gone! ... as for the farce book option, who uses that piece of crap website anymore? ...

I think "they" let a dinosaur decide on what went in to the update this time... *shakes head in bewilderment*

I hate to say this being a sony *cough cough* fanboy... but currently the XBOX 360 has a mush better dash and 1000 times more, better, features than the PS3.

Can't agree with you there. The 360 "dash" is a hailstorm of gloss and adverts, with everywhere connecting to everywhere else, no logic, no hierarchy.

Feature wise, it has no web browser. It's movie player is on a par with the PS3 one, and its audio player is no better.

If iPlayer really is gone, that will not go down well in our house... but I far prefer the design of the PS3 user interface, it's far more grown up than the 360 bling-fest. Feature wise, neither of them have what it takes to be a home hub... though one feels that the PS3 could if Sony got their sh*t together.

I thought iplayer was gone too. Do a restart and it'll reappear.

Haven't doen the restart (yet).

But when iPlayer disappeared, I just popped tot web browser, bookmarked BBC and launched iPlayer from there, looked the same, worked the same.

It's the same thing, the xmb link is just a link to the browser.
