Dante's Inferno Demo and Worst Marketing Quote Ever

Well, worst marketing quote of today at least.

Posted by Staff
Visceral and EA have announced that Dante’s Inferno is to get a demo. Apparently it's a playable demo that doesn't entail having to first touch-up a female to get it.

It's due in December, it's called 'Gates of Hell’. It "includes the entire opening level and gives gamers a taste of Visceral Games’ blockbuster adaptation of Dante Alighieri’s epic poem, The Divine Comedy."

Of course, the epic Italian poem doesn't in itself contain, "intense action gameplay" or "fast-paced hack-n-slash combat" or "two stunning cinematic movies made by Blur, the award-winning visual effects, animation and design studio." The demo does.

Now for the marketing quote: "Our main goal from the start of this project has been to create a journey that will make gamers truly feel like they are going through hell." Thank you, executive producer Jonathan Knight; so far the marketing campaign has already made us feel like that.

However, for that we feel you should play the truly hellish, Clive Barker's Jericho.

Well, at least EA have finally decided to open up in their marketing about the expected enjoyment level of their game, as opposed to it being hell but saying it'll be great.

Has anyone already made the joke about them going to Hell for this?

I don't want to feel like I'm in hell. I'm lead to believe it's an unpleasant experience. Guess I'll be giving this game a miss then.

I'm loving how this game is coming along. These guys made the awesomeness that is Dead Space, so I have high hopes, that it will be cool.

I think a lot of the advertising and marketing for this game has been cool, on par with the God of War goat sacrifice one. Marketing should be creative and a bit wild, while getting a point across.

I don't need a game to feel like I'm going through hell, my life is hell.

The game might change your mind.
