PS3 Slim Pops a Million Sales in Three Weeks

Unusually - given that it usually remains reticent to discuss numbers - Sony has stated that, "PlayStation 3 (CECH-2000A) computer entertainment system achieved a total of 1 million units worldwide in the 3 weeks since its launch on September 1, 2009."

Now, bear in mind that Sony also says that, "The number is based on SCEI’s estimation" rather than being tracked by global third-parties such as Chart-Track, NPD and Media Create. The wording is also rather vague: "achieved a total of 1 million units"... we can only assume that this means "achieved a total of one million sales to actual human beings".
We're sure this will be clarified.
Also announced at TGS was the fact that Kaz Hirai stated, "“We are planning on rolling this service out to all of Europe by the end of 2010."
