Following the highly anticipated and somewhat maligned release of Firmware 3.0 for PlayStation 3, owners of the console reported problems ranging from
Uncharted not playing, DualShock controllers not being recognised, and in extreme cases, PS3s simply ceasing to function (see our solution to that one
here).
Well, Sony has now informed the world of 3.01 in a much quieter manner than the arrival of 3.0. The
US blog states:
"Hi everyone, PS3 system software update 3.01 is now available for download. This is an optional update that improves system stability during use of some PlayStation 3 format software."
Sony's Eric Lempel also points out, "Yes, this will fix the issues that some users have experienced with
Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune."
