Sony released Firmware 3.0 for the PlayStation 3
at the beginning of the month, but since the update arrived many users have been experiencing problems with their hardware. Some have had DualShock controllers failing to connect, others have been flitting in and out of the PlayStation Network, other (such as a SPOnG staffer's old, phat, 60Gb) have seen their PS3 disabled completely. So, naturally a lot of people are irked about the new firmware.
While salvation might not be around the corner, Sony is reportedly aware of the problems that its users are having. Sony's European PlayStation Blog is due to publish a 'Q&A' on the matter at some point today, according to the editor, Jem Alexander.
When posed a question in the comments area yesterday about the Firmware issues, Alexander
responded with the following:
"Don’t worry. The Q&A is coming tomorrow. We’ve been trying to get accurate responses to as many of your questions as possible."So an official explanation - and hopefully, solution - to all this madness (besides the US PlayStation Blog's rather small, '
tail-between-the-legs' apology) is incoming. Will it bring back our beloved dead consoles though? Time will tell.
