Take Two Interactive's third fiscal quarter earnings make the usual not very inspiring reading (it didn't make much money - we'll cover that later). That is, of course, except for the bit buried down at the
bottom where the company tells us how much each platform contributed to its earnings.
In the the three months leading to the end of the period (July 31st 2009) the Xbox 360 did more for the company than the Wii and the PS3 combined. The PC did more than the PS3. The PS3 and the PS2 provided, as a percentage, the same amount of revenue as each other. The poor old DS was outplayed by the PSP though.
Three Months to July 31st 2009Microsoft Xbox 360 = 32%
Nintendo Wii = 16%
PC = 14%
Sony PS3 = 12%
Sony PlayStation 2 = 12%
Sony PSP = 10%
Nintendo DS = 4%
Let's compare that to the same period in the previous year:
Three Months to July 31st 2009Microsoft Xbox 360 = 44%
Sony PS3 = 37%
Nintendo Wii = 7%
Sony PS2 = 5%
Sony PSP = 3%
Nintendo DS = 2%
PC = 2%
