Sony is expected to expand the PlayStation Network next Spring. Kaz Hirai told
Forbes this about it:
"Hirai says the new service will overlay the backbone of the PlayStation Network but will be broader and more open. The service would make easier such things as putting images from a camera on TV, displaying and editing video, sharing with friends, and storage. Brand loyalists would be rewarded with incentives like discounts and premium services."
Strange... we thought this was 100% fake. Here's Sony's Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein told
IGN about a
posting on Gametrailers.
"This 'mockup' is pure conjecture. This is 100 percent fake", he said.
That was in relation to the following 'info' in the post about the 'PlayStation Cloud':
"PlayStation Cloud is like your PlayStation Network portal. It will have all your data and info like.
-save game data
-PlayStation Home data
-PlayStation Network Game Statistics
-Registered hardware and software
-in-game Screenshots
-video captured using the Youtube uploading feature."
Let's say that Rubenstein was referring only to the screenshot (pictured) when he said "100% fake"... even if that screen did use his PSN ID. But the Cloud and the Hirai services do feel very, very similar.
