With the enticement of the famous Rockstar logo floating behind him, Sony's Jack Tretton today announced to an expectant audience that PS3 will be the exclusive home to publisher's new title,
Agent. But it was almost as if he had to do so as a diversion from talking about Ubisoft's
Assassin's Creed 2.
The Sony America chief gave little away about the nature of the Rockstar title, taking barely more than a few moments to say that the game will "take a player across the globe amidst a shadowy world of espionage and assassins in the darkest hours of the late 1970s".
It wouldn't be unfair to say that more time was spent reminiscing on Sony's exclusive glories with Rockstar games, specifically pointing out how beneficial
GTA has been, than was taken to give us the game's name, pedigree and elevator pitch.
Jack then moved on rather rapidly to news of
Assassin's Creed 2, which - in
the pre-rendered trailer already shown at Ubisoft last night - looks really, jolly fine.
Why such an utterly short and sweet?
