The mystery surrounding what Greg Canessa, former PopCap VP and Xbox Live Arcade general manager, will be doing at Blizzard is over. He'll be involved in a revamping of Blizzard's Battle.net accounts service as project director.
"He will report to our vice president of online technologies and work closely with the executive team to help fine-tune the next version of Battle.net, currently in development", Blizzard PR rep Bob Colayco told
Joystiq.
As Colayco's comment suggests, changes are on the way for Battle.net. It looks like players of Blizzard games are being shepherded towards getting one, central account for all their snowy activities. More details
here.
News of Canessa's departure from PopCap in favour of more hardcore climes emerged
earlier in the week.
