Industry scuttlebutt suggests that Microsoft may be soon to announce Zune functionality for the Xbox 360.
The Seattle Post-Intelligencer, a source often clued-in on the goings-on at Microsoft, has taken a look in its crystal ball to suggest what announcements the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, which is due to start next week, will bring. "It's possible that Microsoft will extend Zune services not only to Windows Mobile but to its Xbox 360 video game console, too", it reports.
While Zune services are unlikely to fill 360 users with the warm familiarity that other, more fruit-based music services would, a proper music download portal on Xbox Live wouldn't hurt anyone. Currently tunes are available only in the form of music videos.
Still, this is all very much a big, nebulous rumour, with no source given by the Seattle PI.
