According to the BBC back in February, Sony was going to
reveal a mystery PS3 game that meant that, "we could be on the brink of a step change in what games consoles are capable of in terms of story-telling and immersion."
That game has now been revealed. Well, according to Daimion Pinnock and SCEA producer, it has. Darren explains that, "Since July there have been rumors about a 'mystery game that SCEA had up its sleeve.'
"Well, it’s time to put all that speculation to rest. I am pleased to announce that we will be adding yet another exciting downloadable PS3 title to the PSN lineup:
Savage Moon."
That is, of course, unless it's an entirely new mystery game that the BBC hadn't seen. Apparently,
Savage Moon is, "is a frantic, action-packed tower defence game in a gritty sci-fi setting".
It stars "giant deadly creatures" called “Insectocytes" and doesn't remind us one bit of
Starship Troopers. You "...will need to have a balanced strategy to fend them all off and keep the mining facilities safe."
Does anybody
recall The
Y-Project from
Westka Interactive? Or what about
Lost Planet?
We're sure, however, that Savage Moon will be quite, quite different to other alien insect-based combat games. Already, in fact, we are told that the game is is "addictive and the action is relentless".
Then again, we are
told this by Darren.
