According to
The (London) Times newspaper, Nintendo is so scared of the competition stealing ideas from Shigeru Miyamoto that the company has gagged the
Mario creator from speaking about his hobbies.
It's fortunate then, that SPOnG has already managed to extract from 'the great man' a breakdown of his favourite things to do when he's not coming up with best-selling, genre-defining video game ideas.
Stefan SPOnG sat down with Shiggy a while back and got the following - listen up Microsoft and Sony:
* Food: "I really love(s) carbohydrates! Pastas and udon noodles especially!" - so, a pasta making game for the Wii.
* Cars: "I’ve always had four-wheel-drive cars" - so, a Jeep tie-in.
* Pets: "I have a Sheltie that needs a lot of exercise..." - Mmmm, a dog exercising game using the Wii Remote and the nunchuck.
* Places: "(I will) head up with the dog and the family into the mountains where we’ll spend hours at a time" - right, a family hiking game.
* Domestic: "I’ll head out into the garden for some gardening" - beware Rare,
Viva Piñata won't stand up to this kind of competition.
* Music: "I started playing the mandolin recently too. I’m looking into the roots of bluegrass which leads me to Irish music..." - We already know about
Wii Music, what we hadn't realised was that we would be getting
Bill Monroe versus The Dubliners Hero.
So, there you go, we've spilled all the secrets. You can read the full and vintage, Stefan SPOnG and Shigeru Miyamoto 20005
