The UK's video game industry awards have been handed out at the Develop Conference in glorious Brighton. These are the gongs given by developers to developers and deserve some respect, so put your trousers on, turn Jeremy Kyle off and take note.
To nobody's surprise - but ours* - Grand Theft Auto IV swept up awards including, Visual Arts, Audio Accomplishment and Technical Innovation. We would have given Guildford-based Criterion Games at least one shout-out for Burnout Paradise, but maybe that's why we write about games instead of making them.
Nintendo also popped up with the Publishing Hero award. The company's David Tennant-a-like spokesperson, Rob Saunders, took the podium to accept that and expressed his opinion that Nintendo's Japanese developers were honoured to receive such recognition from their UK peers.
