OK, so it's not quite Friday, but since Sony's getting a bit ahead of itself we've got this week's new PlayStation Network and PC Store releases for you to cast your eye over.

Leading the pack is Riff: Everyday Shooter, available to buy now. If you've not come across it before, it's a variation on classic top-down Asteroids-style gameplay. In the words of its developer, Jonathan Mak, "Everyday Shooter is an album of games exploring the expressive power of abstract shooters. Dissolute sounds of destruction are replaced with guitar riffs harmonizing over an all-guitar soundtrack, while modulating shapes celebrate the flowing beauty of geometry."

Leading on with the guitar theme, we've also got a new track pack for Guitar Hero III. It's dubbed the Classic Rock Track Pack and features three delightful old tracks for you to enjoy with your Dad: Peace of Mind by Boston, Juke Box Hero by Foreigner and Any Way You Want It by Journey.

For the PSP you'll find a demo for SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 2 along with a new track pack for WipEout Pulse.

Riff: Everyday Shooter is a good wee game. I like the contrast (so far) between the high shooter action and the blissed out sounds it creates , plus the whole indie feel is good, less polish, more fun.
