Microsoft's announced - if that's the right word - it's latest Xbox Live Arcade update, which is due this Wednesday (January 16th).
Holding your breath? Desist! The game in question is
Boogie Bunnies, "...an imaginative color matching 3D puzzle game from Sierra Online".
What more information is forthcoming regarding these raving rabbits... sorry, lapine lap-dancers... sorry, boogie'ing bunnies? Apparently the game, "...transports players to exotic locations where they complete extensive chain puzzles to trigger funky bunny dances."
This hutch of happy will cost you 800 Microsoft Points - have them ready at 09:00 tomorrow morning - or the myxomatosis comes out.
Enough of that, what of Res HD, which, we're told, "...has achieved almost mythical status among gamers"? Well, you've sort of got to agree. If you know little about this gem, try our interview with
Res and
Lumines creator, Tetsuya Mizuguchi,
right here. This will be 'launching soon'... we aren't told any more.
So,
Lode Runner? Remember
Lode Runner? You know... the Brøderbund game from the 1980s? The one that was
Donkey Kong a bit... on the Amstrad CPC? Oh, well, it's a classic and it's "due in 2008".
Andy SPOnG comments, "It looks like the early '80s. Alright, yes, I am listening to Delta 5 at the moment... but when's
Grid coming out?" Thanks, Andy.
You may recall that
Lode Runner has already appeared on Nintendo's Wii Virtual Console as a download. So, it's good to see that Microsoft can also adopt it. Makes you hope that the two companies can come to a happy arrangement regarding other legacy titles.
Yes, indeed.
We're also told about
Brain Challenge, "Xbox LIVE Arcade’s first brain training game". it apparently, "boosts brain activity and helps players develop stress-management skills in fun, innovative ways, thanks to a wide variety of games spanning across math, reasoning, memory, focus and logic."
Until Nicole Kidman tells us that, first thing in the morning, with breakfast on a tray and without Keith Urban bugging us, we're withholding judgement.
Finally, 'indie developer' has
Poker Smash for us. This "incorporates gameplay elements found in today’s most engrossing puzzle games and adds a poker twist to the mix".
Please tell us how to mix Suduko or Jenga with five-card-draw, and tell us in the Forum.
