Microsoft’s slight correction that is the Xbox 360 Elite launches tomorrow – a snip at £299.99. If you are a fan of Halo, however, you might want to hang fire for a month, as the Halo 3 Special Edition Xbox 360, which will set you back £279.99, arrives on September 26th.

Why might you want to buy it? Well because it’s green and gold and not boring matt black like the Elite. Plus you get the a bunch of Halo bits and bobs in the pack. Oh, and don't forget the HDMI port (like Microsoft did in the original 360). Here's a stunning run-down of the stuff included in the pack.

• Halo 3 Special Edition Wireless Controller
• Halo 3 Special Edition 20GB Hard Drive
• Halo 3 Special Edition Wired Headset
• Halo 3 Special Edition Gamer Pics and Theme (Exclusive download via Xbox LIVE)
• Component HD AV Cable
• Ethernet Cable
• HDMI Port
• Play & Charge Kit
• Xbox LIVE Silver Membership
• One-month Xbox LIVE Gold Membership

Why might you not want to buy it? Because the Xbox 360 Elite is only twenty quid more, has 120GB hard drive and a HDMI cable and all of the above (in matt black, without the nerdy Halo pics) and it looks far cooler than the funny green machine.

Two steps forward and one, this won't come together because Halo 360 (with 20gb not 120gb drive) doesn't attract.

Nice move MS but not worth it. I'm sure we'd all spend that extra £20 and get an 120gb drive, than some flash but nice Master Chiefesque 360. I guess MS didn't think about this part too well. Come on guys, wtf are you doing?
