Get in line for, you guessed it, U.S.-based repairs.

Microsoft Opens Xbox Repair Site
Microsoft has launched a new site to deal with customers needing their Xbox 360s repaired. The site was set up in the U.S. and enables customers to sign up their console, send it in for repair and then track its progress.

For a user to get their console repaired they must first go onto the website and input their windows live ID as well as register the repair as being either ‘in-warranty’ or ‘out-of-warranty’. Placing an out of warranty repairs request on the website earns a $5 (£2.45) discount.

The new website was launched due to high failure rates of the Xbox 360 and was also set to coincide with the $50 (£24.50) price cut for U.S. consoles.

While this may be all well and good for those who have had repair problems with their Xbox 360s in the U.S., there is still no sign of a U.K. website. We attempted to contact Microsoft about the possibility of a U.K. website but were unable to get a comment.

The websites address is http://service.xbox.com.
