Official PlayStation Blog Launches

Not ‘semi’ official. Proper official.

Sony Computer Entertainment America has just launched the official PlayStation Blog, which it offers to gamers as a "platform for conversation and connection".

As well as a platform to show off your best PlayStation related tattoos to bag some ‘exclusive swag’ from Sony (see pictured). Ouch!

The first PlayStation Blog post is by none other than SCEA’s senior PR Manager, Patrick Seybold, who says, "Welcome and sorry for the wait. PlayStation.Blog is a bit of work in progress, we see it as a place where we can share with you our company's collective insights, opinions and perspectives on all things related to SCEA, PlayStation and the industry we play in."

"We're thinking about sharing all sorts of things here, ranging from product news and title announcements to developer updates and industry opinion posts - all of which will come straight from the people here inside SCEA who are working, thinking and playing with this stuff every day."

This initiative is not to be confused with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s ‘semi-official’ blog – which is not written by SCEE employees, but by ‘friendly journalists’.

Okay, so this is the "actually official, really" blog, set up so that Sony can differentiate itself and its message from the "no it's not official at all - it's really, honestly done by a bunch of edgy gamers that have no association with SCEE at all (other than it just happen to be owned by our PR agency)" blog.
