The PlayStation Home beta has gone live in North America, according to a posting on the official PlayStation forums. Unofficial new Home screens have emerged on the internet today, but its unclear whether they come from North America or Europe.
The poster, one TristanMike, reports, “I was browsing the Playstation 3 Network section here on the forums when I saw that the store was updated..I went to look, and Home Beta was ready for download...I'm downloading as we speak... I didn't get an email telling me.”
No official confirmation has come from Sony as yet, so SPOnG remains open to the possibility that the information is inaccurate. With the service already
live for Sony employees in Europe, however, it seems plausible that Home is, in fact, available.
Invitations went out to privileged PS3 owners in North America
last week. For the time being, however, it's only members of Sony's Games Advisory Panel (GAP) who have received invitations to the service. The online sign-up sheet is still not allowing users to register their interest for Home.
SPOnG contacted Sony for confirmation but no comment was available at the time of press. Needless to say, SPOnG will keep you informed.
