Sony has posted its latest advert for the PS3 on its promotional website - thisisliving.com. SPOnG expects nothing less than a bit of strangeness from Sony's advertising people, but this is nothing short of baffling.
Boobs and bombs is the order of the day. They both bounce across the screen in a manner that whiffs faintly of Tarantino. That's all well and good, but there's nary a PS3 in sight.
Off the wall advertising is nothing new for Sony. Last June it narrowly
dodged a bullet when the Advertising Standards Authority nearly banned Sony's London Underground PSP campaign. At least the target audience knew what the creatively crude series of posters was actually
about in that case...
SPOnG contacted Sony to find out what the ad's all about. At the time of press, however, SPOnG's contact was as non-plussed as we are. SPOnG's asked for more information on when the commercial will air and what the thinking behind it is. If we here anything we'll let you know.
